Schools use peer power to get kids eating more fruits and veggies

NCT ID NCT01412697

Summary

This study tested a school program designed to help middle school students eat more fruits and vegetables. Over 1,100 seventh graders in ten rural schools participated, with some schools using the new program and others using standard health lessons. The program, which included goal setting and student peer leaders, successfully led to higher fruit and vegetable intake both right after the program and one year later.
