Milk vs. water: which drink wins for kids' brainpower?

NCT ID NCT06711926

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 24, 2026

Summary

This completed study tested how three different drinks—water, semi-skimmed milk, and whey permeate—affect hydration, thinking, and mood in 13 healthy children aged 9 to 11. Each child tried all three drinks on separate mornings, and researchers measured urine output, blood and breath samples, cognitive tests, and appetite. The goal was to find which beverage keeps kids best hydrated and whether that helps them learn and feel better in school.
