First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding calisthenics (bodyweight exercises like push-ups and squats) to regular gym class helps teens get stronger and feel better about themselves. 100 students aged 13-16 were split into two groups: one did calisthenics for 12 weeks, the other followed standard PE. Researchers measured strength, body fat, eating habits, and self-esteem before and after the program to see if the calisthenics group improved more.
