First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether adding simple bodyweight exercises (calisthenics) to gym class helps teenagers get stronger and feel better about themselves. About 100 students aged 13-16 took part, with some doing the special program and others sticking to regular PE. After 12 weeks, researchers measured muscle strength, body fat, eating habits, and self-concept to see if the calisthenics group improved more.
