Radiation zaps resistant cancer spots, may extend immunotherapy success

NCT ID NCT04974671

First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests whether precisely targeted radiation can control kidney cancer that has started growing in a few spots while a patient is on immunotherapy. About 30 adults with metastatic renal cell carcinoma will receive radiation to up to 5 progressing tumors and continue their same immunotherapy. The goal is to see if this approach can delay further cancer growth and avoid switching to a different treatment.
