Sweat it out: sauna may tame blood sugar spikes

NCT ID NCT07520929

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a 40-minute sauna session before a meal can lower blood sugar spikes in overweight adults. Fifteen participants aged 30-55 with a BMI of 27 or higher will have their glucose monitored continuously. They will visit the lab twice—once for a sauna and once for rest—and eat standard meals afterward. The goal is to see if heat exposure improves short-term glucose control.
