New combo aims to wipe out hidden breast cancer cells

NCT ID NCT04333706

First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding sarilumab to standard chemotherapy can clear leftover cancer cells in people with triple negative breast cancer, a fast-growing type. The trial has two parts: first, finding the safest dose in people with advanced cancer; second, testing that dose in people with early-stage cancer who still have cancer cells after initial treatment. The goal is to improve survival and increase the chance of a cure by targeting microscopic disease that standard treatments miss.
