Immune cells may reveal salt sensitivity in high blood pressure

NCT ID NCT03753204

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 40 times

Summary

This study looks at whether immune cells (monocytes) can be used as a simple test to diagnose salt-sensitive high blood pressure. Researchers will give 20 adults with high blood pressure a high-salt and low-salt diet to see how their blood pressure and immune cells change. The goal is to find a faster, easier way to identify people whose blood pressure is affected by salt.
