First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether a salmon bone meal supplement could prevent bone loss in perimenopausal women with low bone density (osteopenia). Eighty women aged 50 and older took the supplement or a placebo for 24 months. Researchers measured bone density in the hip, spine, and forearm to see if the supplement helped maintain bone strength.
