Mini-Tumors in a dish: can they pick the right cancer drug?

NCT ID NCT06686979

Summary

This study aims to see if a new lab test using tiny, lab-grown tumor models (called organoids) can accurately predict which drugs will work for patients with recurrent or metastatic salivary gland cancer. Researchers will collect tumor samples from about 40 patients, grow the organoids, and test 15 different drug combinations on them. They will then compare the lab test results to how well the patients' actual cancer responds to their prescribed treatment to see if the tests match.
