Inhaler vs nebulizer: which works faster for asthma attacks?

NCT ID NCT05977699

First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tested two different devices that deliver the asthma rescue drug salbutamol: a standard inhaler with a spacer and a newer vibrating mesh nebulizer. 16 adults with mild-to-moderate asthma took part. Researchers measured how quickly and completely their lungs recovered after a controlled asthma-like challenge. The goal is to see if one device works better or faster.
