Heart ultrasound may unmask silent AF risk in thousands

NCT ID NCT07278089

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study is testing whether certain heart ultrasound findings can identify people who have hidden atrial fibrillation (AF) but don't know it. Researchers will monitor 3000 participants with abnormal ultrasound results using extended ECG recordings to see if they detect more AF cases than standard care. The goal is to improve early detection and prevent strokes.
