NCT ID NCT04713085
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested whether a nerve stimulation technique can help children aged 2-17 with long-lasting constipation and bowel accidents that didn't improve with standard treatments. 48 children were randomly assigned to receive either an invasive (implanted device) or non-invasive (external) version of the therapy. The goal was to see if it could reduce pain, improve bowel movements, and cut down on accidents.
