First human trial of 'Re-Engineered' white blood cells to fight scarred livers

NCT ID NCT06823713

Summary

This is the first study in people to test a new personalized cell therapy called RTX001 for advanced liver cirrhosis. The therapy is made by collecting a patient's own white blood cells, modifying them in a lab to potentially reduce liver scarring and inflammation, and then infusing them back into the patient. The main goals are to see if the treatment is safe and if it can help improve liver function and prevent further complications in up to 30 participants.
