Brain wave test may predict depression treatment success
NCT ID NCT05424224
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looks at whether brain wave (EEG) tests can predict which people with depression will get the most help from a treatment called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). rTMS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate parts of the brain and is already approved for depression. About 30 adults with depression will receive rTMS and have their brain waves measured before and after treatment to see if certain patterns can tell who responds best.
