Brain zaps and diet may ease Crohn's constipation

NCT ID NCT07531342

First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a treatment called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) — a non-invasive brain stimulation — combined with an anti-inflammatory diet can help with constipation and improve quality of life in people with Crohn's disease. Fifty patients aged 40–60 will be split into two groups: one gets rTMS plus the diet, the other gets only the diet, both for 4 weeks. The main goals are to measure changes in constipation severity and quality of life, and to check levels of inflammatory markers in the blood.
