Summary

This study investigates whether sleeping on a gently rocking bed can improve sleep quality and memory in people undergoing neurorehabilitation after conditions like stroke, traumatic brain injury, or inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system. Participants will sleep on the rocking bed for 14 nights and undergo sleep assessments. The goal is to see if this simple, non-invasive approach can enhance standard memory training.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
rocking bed (Somnomat)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to boost memory and sleep quality for people recovering from brain injuries or diseases.
What could go wrong
This is a small early study with only 20 participants, and the rocking bed is not yet certified in Switzerland. Benefits are not guaranteed, and there are minor risks like falling or discomfort.
