Robots vs. surgeons: europe tests Who's better at spinal surgery
NCT ID NCT03398915
Summary
This large European study compares three different methods surgeons use to place screws in the spine during back surgery: using a robot for guidance, using computer navigation, or doing it freehand by eye and feel. It aims to see which technique results in fewer patients needing a second surgery to fix misplaced screws. Over 900 adults with various back conditions requiring spinal fusion will be followed for two years to measure surgical accuracy, complications, and recovery.
