Robots take on stomach cancer: new trial tests if High-Tech surgery beats standard care

NCT ID NCT07331454

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study compares two types of minimally invasive surgery for stomach cancer that has spread to the outer stomach wall (cT4a). About 335 adults aged 18-80 will be randomly assigned to have their tumor removed with either robot-assisted or laparoscopy-assisted surgery. The main goal is to see if the robotic approach helps patients live longer without the cancer coming back, while also checking safety and quality of life over 5 years.
