Liver cirrhosis patients needed for blood thinner safety study
NCT ID NCT04874428
First seen Mar 01, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at how two common blood thinners, rivaroxaban and apixaban, are processed by the body in people with mild to moderate liver cirrhosis (Child-Pugh class A and B). Participants take a single low dose of one of the drugs, and blood samples are collected over 12 hours to measure drug levels and clotting activity. The goal is to better understand dosing and safety in this group. A follow-up call 5 days later checks for any side effects.
