Ultrasound spots arthritis relapse before symptoms strike

NCT ID NCT01765374

First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tested whether ultrasound can detect early signs of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) returning in patients treated with rituximab, before they feel symptoms. Thirty adults with RA who had not responded to other treatments took part. The goal was to see if ultrasound could predict flare-ups earlier than standard checkups.
