New combo therapy boosts survival in kids with aggressive blood cancers

NCT ID NCT01516580

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding 6 doses of the drug rituximab to standard chemotherapy helps children and teens with advanced B-cell lymphoma or leukemia live longer without the cancer coming back. About 482 high-risk patients aged 6 months to 18 years took part. The goal was to see if the combination treatment improves event-free survival compared to chemotherapy alone.
