NCT ID NCT06949579

First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at why some people with severe nearsightedness develop a bulge at the back of the eye called posterior staphyloma. Researchers will collect blood samples and eye images from 200 adults in France, the Netherlands, and Spain to find genetic and protein differences. The goal is to better understand this condition, not to test a new treatment.
