First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested a new drug called ripretinib against the standard drug sunitinib in 108 people with advanced GIST whose cancer had worsened or who couldn't tolerate the first treatment, imatinib. The main goal was to see which drug better delayed cancer growth. Participants were randomly assigned to receive either ripretinib or sunitinib. The results help doctors understand if ripretinib is a better option for controlling this rare stomach cancer.
