CT scan could make heart ablation safer by pinpointing hidden nerve

NCT ID NCT07330791

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looked at 80 people having a heart procedure called ablation to treat irregular heartbeats. Doctors wanted to see if a CT scan could accurately show the location of a nerve near the heart that can be accidentally injured during the procedure. They compared the CT images with the standard method of using a small electrical pulse to find the nerve. The goal was to find a safer way to perform the ablation.
