Water vs. air: new colonoscopy technique may spot more hidden polyps
NCT ID NCT07456007
First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested a new colonoscopy method that uses water instead of air in the right colon to see if it finds more polyps (adenomas) than the standard air method. About 414 adults having a colonoscopy for screening or other reasons took part. The goal was to improve detection of polyps in the right colon, which is harder to examine and linked to higher cancer risk after colonoscopy.
