Heart ultrasound may predict Post-Surgery AFib risk

NCT ID NCT06054360

First seen Jun 13, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring the function of the right upper heart chamber using ultrasound can help predict a common irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) that often occurs after heart surgery. About 334 adults scheduled for bypass surgery will have their heart function measured before and after the operation. The goal is to see if changes in the right chamber's strain are linked to who develops the irregular heartbeat.
