New study: can a needle procedure replace opioids for cancer pain?

NCT ID NCT07529314

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether interventional radiology—a minimally invasive procedure—can help manage pain in people with advanced or metastatic cancer. Researchers will measure pain levels and quality of life before the procedure and at 7 days, 1 month, and 3 months after. The goal is to see if this approach can reduce pain and improve daily living for 125 adult patients who are already receiving standard cancer treatments.
