New combo therapy aims to prevent fractures in spine cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07090122

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study compares two treatments for people with cancer that has spread to the spine. One group gets a procedure that uses heat to destroy tumor tissue and strengthens the bone, plus standard radiation. The other group gets radiation alone. The goal is to see if the combined approach reduces bone-related problems like fractures or nerve compression. About 36 adults with spine metastases will take part and be followed for up to 2 years.
