First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests a new way to preserve donated kidneys from older donors (age 50+). Before transplant, some kidneys will be warmed and pumped with a special solution for 6 hours, while others get standard cold storage. The goal is to see if this "warm-up" leads to better kidney function one year after transplant. The study will include 240 adults receiving their first or second kidney transplant.
