Summary
This study surveyed 54 Belgian spinal surgeons about how they advise patients on returning to work after lumbar surgery for leg pain caused by nerve compression. The goal was to understand current practices, barriers, and what helps surgeons give good return-to-work guidance. The findings will help shape better recommendations for patients recovering from surgery.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to better, more consistent advice for patients returning to work after lumbar surgery.
What could go wrong
This is a small survey of 54 surgeons in Belgium, so results may not apply to other countries or settings. It only captures surgeon opinions, not patient outcomes.
