Eye surgery study tests which filler causes less vision distortion
NCT ID NCT07495319
Summary
This study compared two common materials used to support the retina after surgery for a detached retina. Researchers wanted to see if using a gas bubble or silicone oil inside the eye resulted in less shifting of the retina after it was reattached. They followed 78 patients in Pakistan for one month after surgery to measure this effect, which can impact vision quality.
