Eye scans reveal hidden clues about stroke

NCT ID NCT04712747

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looked at whether special eye imaging can help understand stroke. Researchers used a technique called adaptive optics to take detailed pictures of tiny blood vessels in the eyes of 91 people who recently had a stroke and compared them to healthy controls. The goal was to measure changes in the vessel walls and see if these differ between types of stroke. This was an observational study, not a treatment.
