Breathing and meditation may ease stress for ICU patients and families

NCT ID NCT06867367

First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether simple breathing exercises and guided meditations can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression in elderly ICU survivors (over 60) and their caregivers. Participants will practice these techniques using a mobile app or in a group, and will also wear a safe EEG cap to measure brain activity. The goal is to see if these practices can provide an easy, accessible way to support mental health after a difficult ICU stay.
