New bacterial therapy aims to stop bladder cancer in its tracks
NCT ID NCT06800963
First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests a new treatment for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) using a modified version of the BCG bacteria, given directly into the bladder. The goal is to see if it is safe and can control the cancer, preventing it from coming back. About 40 adults who have not had BCG before will take part. The treatment is designed to boost the immune system to fight the cancer, but it is not a cure and ongoing monitoring is needed.
