New device aims to shield kidneys during heart surgery

Summary
This study tests a device called RenalGuard that helps manage fluids during heart surgery to prevent acute kidney injury (AKI). About 300 adults at risk for AKI will be randomly assigned to receive either RenalGuard therapy or standard care. The goal is to see if RenalGuard reduces kidney damage within 72 hours after surgery, with follow-up at 90 days.
