New device aims to shield kidneys during heart surgery

Summary

This study tests whether a device called RenalGuard can prevent acute kidney injury (AKI) in people at risk after heart surgery. About 300 adults having certain heart surgeries will be randomly assigned to receive either RenalGuard therapy or standard care. The goal is to see if RenalGuard reduces kidney damage within 72 hours after surgery.
