Heart failure kidney procedure study halted after just 4 patients
NCT ID NCT04947670
First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested a procedure called renal denervation, which uses a catheter to calm overactive kidney nerves, in people with chronic heart failure. The goal was to see if it's safe and feasible, and to learn how it affects symptoms and heart function. However, the study was stopped early after enrolling only 4 participants, so no firm conclusions can be drawn.
