Zoom yoga may be a new tool to fight high blood pressure
NCT ID NCT06961981
First seen Jul 07, 2026 · Last updated Jul 08, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a 12-week vinyasa (flow) yoga program done at home via Zoom can improve heart health in people with high blood pressure. Thirty adults with elevated blood pressure will be split into two groups: one does yoga three times a week, the other continues their usual routine. Researchers will measure changes in blood pressure and artery stiffness to see if the yoga program is both practical and effective.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Vinyasa Yoga (flow yoga) delivered remotely via Zoom
- What this could lead to
- If this program works, it could offer a convenient, at-home exercise option to help manage blood pressure and improve heart health without needing to go to a gym or studio.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The yoga program may not lower blood pressure enough to make a meaningful difference.
