New study aims to catch hidden heart risks in fainting patients sent home from ER
NCT ID NCT05066347
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether using a remote heart monitor for 15 days after leaving the emergency room can find dangerous heart rhythms in people who fainted. About 580 adults at medium or high risk for heart problems will be randomly assigned to either standard care or extended monitoring. The goal is to see if longer monitoring catches more treatable heart issues and improves patient safety.
