Simple relaxation exercises may ease pain and improve sleep after lung surgery

NCT ID NCT07430176

First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at whether two relaxation methods—Benson relaxation and progressive muscle relaxation—can help reduce pain and improve sleep quality in people who have had a lung lobe removed (lobectomy). About 160 adults will be assigned to one of the relaxation groups or standard care. The goal is to see if these simple techniques can make recovery more comfortable.
