First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This pilot study tested whether a combination of relaxation, guided imagery, and gentle massage could help prevent delirium in critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). The study involved 27 adults in the ICU who were not deeply sedated. The goal was to see if this calming approach is practical and might reduce confusion and stress.
