Simple breathing exercises ease pain and calm nerves after emergency surgery
NCT ID NCT07301073
Summary
This study tested whether guided relaxation exercises could help patients feel better after emergency surgery. Seventy adults who had emergency surgery were split into two groups: one group did structured breathing and muscle relaxation exercises after their operation, while the other received standard care. The study found that the exercises significantly reduced patients' pain and anxiety and helped improve their heart rate, breathing, and oxygen levels.
