First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding extra stitches around the surgical connection in laparoscopic low rectal cancer surgery can reduce the risk of dangerous leaks. About 300 adults with low rectal cancer will be assigned to either standard surgery or surgery with reinforced stitching. The goal is to see if the reinforced method leads to fewer complications and better recovery.
