Could less be more? new study tests smaller surgery for rectal cancer

Summary
This study looks at whether people with advanced upper rectal cancer can have a smaller surgery after receiving pre-surgery therapy. About 874 adults will be randomly assigned to either standard or reduced surgical margins. The goal is to see if the smaller approach is as safe and effective at preventing cancer from coming back.
