Less radiation, same pain relief? new study aims to spare healthy spine bone
NCT ID NCT06884332
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving radiation to only the painful spots on the spine (instead of the whole area) can still control pain just as well after 30 days. About 600 people with cancer that has spread to their bones will be randomly assigned to standard or smaller radiation fields. The goal is to keep pain relief while possibly reducing side effects.
