First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested a program to reduce pesticide exposure in preschool children at 85 child care centers in California. Over 7 months, centers used integrated pest management (IPM) practices like sealing cracks and using bait traps instead of sprays. Researchers measured pesticide levels in carpet dust and children's wristbands, finding that the program helped lower exposure and improve pest control.
