First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether rapidly adjusting cholesterol-lowering medications, based on frequent blood tests, helps heart disease patients reach their LDL cholesterol targets faster. Researchers will enroll 1000 adults with coronary artery disease and monitor their cholesterol levels over a year. The goal is to see if this intensive approach reduces the risk of future heart attacks or strokes.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
lipid-lowering medications (statins and other cholesterol drugs)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that a more intensive monitoring and treatment approach helps more heart patients reach their cholesterol goals and reduce the risk of future heart attacks or strokes.
What could go wrong
This is a registry study, not a randomized trial, so results may be influenced by patient selection. It focuses on cholesterol levels, not directly on preventing heart events, and the approach may not be feasible in all clinics due to resource needs.
