New camera could speed up cancer checks after rectal surgery
NCT ID NCT07341126
First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests a short camera called a rectoscope to check the lower bowel after rectal tumor or polyp removal. The goal is to see if it can be used in the clinic with a simple enema instead of strong bowel prep, making follow-up exams easier and faster. Thirty patients will take part in three stages to compare the new camera with the standard one. If successful, this approach could reduce waiting lists and help catch regrowths early.
