NCT ID NCT06236633
First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests if blocking a specific artery (the inferior mesenteric artery) a few weeks before rectal cancer surgery can help the colon adapt and reduce serious complications like leaks (fistulas). About 30 adults with rectal cancer will receive this artery embolization before their planned surgery. The main goal is to check if the procedure is safe and to see if it leads to fewer post-surgery problems.
